I decided to start a 365 Project on July 13, 2013. Basically, that means I post a picture every day for an entire year! I am proud to say that I completed my first year and have started on my second! I started this project because I thought it would be fun to have a daily photo diary to look back on and remember all the little things that happen every day. Sometimes having two kids so close together in age is so stressful and I spend my entire day fulfilling needs and dealing with tantrums that I don’t remember to stop and enjoy the little moments with J and R. So taking a picture everyday will hopefully help me to notice (and remember) all the little stuff.
And, as a side benefit, I hope that it will help me learn how to take better pictures and perhaps most importantly, it will be something just for me to use as my creative outlet. As a stay-at-home mom there isn’t much that I do that is for me or that fulfills my other “hats” that I wear other than being a mom. So this project gives me that little piece of myself that is ME not the me that is a mom, just the me that is me.
And of course, no blurb would be complete without my disclaimer – not every picture will be a work of art. It’s just not possible when shooting every.single.day. So sometimes you’ll see crappy iPhone shots and sometimes you’ll see crappy DSLR shots where I just wasn’t feeling creative or I was and just couldn’t make something materialize. But I hope you enjoy this little blog as much as I do! I think I may be my only “fan” (other than Dada who is legally obligated to be one of my biggest fans) and if that’s the case, that’s quite alright by me!
