“Un.” Day 321/365

R is quickly picking up new words.  His latest is “un” for under.  He’s on a roll of putting cars under beds, under couches, under pillows, under towels and even, under my butt.

Big boy undies. Day 320/365

J has been really “into” the potty lately so I am hoping the end of diapers is near!  In order to help encourage him, we went and picked out some big boy undies.  He was really excited about it!

“But Mom, I AM a princess.” Day 319/365

J is totally lost in his imagination these days.  He has recently started wrapping my scarves around his head so that he has really long hair like Rapunzel.  He also likes me to tie a scarf around his waist so he can pretend it is his dress.  He loves wearing my sparkly gold Tory Burch flats and telling me that he is a princess or a ballerina.  It’s really really cute.  So as his Mom, I of course love this image.  It catches him at a point in time in his life that I want to remember – ignorant to gender stereotypes and just being himself – a boy who likes all thing girlie including dresses, long hair, sparkly shoes and princesses and not afraid to stand up for it.

First ride. Day 315/365

Given how much he wanted a power wheels police car which then sat unused in the garage for 5 months, I should not have been surprised when the birthday bike sat unused for weeks on end.  However, with a little prodding, he decided to take it out for a spin.  He had a lot of fun with it for the first few minutes and then Dada wound up carrying it the rest of the way to the playground.  Story of my life.  If I had a nickel for every random thing they give me and ask me to carry or hold for them … you wouldn’t be able to find me under the pile of all their stuff and the 50 lb bag of nickels.   Perhaps 3 and a half might be a better age for this type of bike.  Right now he’s not really sure what to do with it.  And that’s ok.  Stay tuned for the “I can’t get him off this thing” post.
