You are 6 months old today. I can hardly believe it. I think I have to say it again so it really sinks in, you’re 6 months old today. Time has gone so fast but I also can’t picture our lives without you in it. You are the happiest baby, I know this not only because you’re the third one I’ve raised, but also because everyone tells me so. You sit so happily at everyone’s doctor’s appointments (and we’ve had a lot of those this year) and so contentedly as we run errands. You still love your feet. We’ve had socks or booties on but every time those piggies are free you go right for them. You seem to be teething a bit – having woken up with that hallmark red cheek rash recently. Although no teeth have broken through yet. You’re interested in everything. And it all goes straight to your mouth. And can we talk about your little cheek dimple? It’s right outside your smile line on your left side – we get to see it every time you flash us one of your huge toothless grins. You coo and babble all the time – it’s adorable. I almost don’t want you to learn how to talk! You’ve started belly sleeping a little bit at night but you always cry a bit when you first land that way and when you wake up during a sleep cycle to find yourself still on your belly. I know you’ll figure out how to roll yourself over soon. You light up our whole house with your bubbly presence and I hope your brothers always adore you as much as they do right now.

She loves playing in her exersaucer, but man, will I be happy when we can move this orange monstrosity out of the family room!

I’m not even sure he’s aware of it, but whenever he is seeking comfort or needs some calming down, he holds LyLy to his mouth just like this.

Everytime we are on the floor with E, Bauer inserts himself right into the middle of whatever is going on. I wish I could say he is being protective of her, but I tend to think the old boy is a wee bit jealous.

“WHAT? Who me?? No way.”

I can’t believe this munchkin is sitting up already! She’s still not a fan of rolling and prefers to just lounge on her back. She’ll tolerate tummy time but still refuses to roll herself over when she is finished with it. I know she can do it, because I’ve seen her do it. She simply seems to prefer not to roll.
