R’s first day of preK-3.
In typical R fashion there was a lot of “I don’t want to go to school today” in the morning and the teachers had to coax him out of the car. But as usual, when I picked him up he was all smiles and said he had a fun day.

First day of Kindergarten!
5 years… they went by in a blink of an eye. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it’s so true – the days are long but the years are short. What an exciting day for the J-man. He wasn’t really nervous (maybe a little bit because of the patch) and was super excited to be taking the bus to school with his good buddy, Genevieve. When he first met his teacher his eyes lit up with excitement – she’s young, pretty, had fantastic shoes and has hair that’s two colors (blonde on top, black on the bottom). She’s like a monster high doll in real life! A perfect fit for the J-man.

R’s 4th birthday!
Lots of fun toys for the Roo’s birthday – parachute men, a catapult, a remote control car and stomp rocket! And a movie about…. LIONS of course!!! We spent most of the day playing with all his new toys since it was such a beautiful day. We had a late lunch at a restaurant about 10 feet from a small airport’s runway in the hopes of seeing a plane takeoff or land. We didn’t see any planes but R enjoyed his chocolate lava cake AND chocolate ice cream desserts to celebrate his big day!

Bronx Zoo. Animals? What animals?
When asked what their favorite parts of the zoo were, they answered “the carousel, the monorail and the gift shop.” Nice. So much for learning about and seeing real live endangered species.
