“Noooo.” Day 57/365
R says “no” in the absolute cutest way. The best I can do to explain it is to say he starts off in his regular voice, does a quick low dip and then ascends into a high note. All with a huge smile on his face. This is one instance where my photography just doesn’t do it justice. Might be time to learn how to use the video camera on that thing.

Stepping up. Day 55/365
Poor R, his little legs are too short for him to ride his birthday Big Wheels. Luckily, big bro was more than willing to step up and take R’s Big Wheel for an inaugural tour around the driveway.

B-more. Day 53/365
In order to give them the full hotel experience, we of course had to order room service and eat breakfast in bed!
And then we packed up and headed to Baltimore where we toured the Inner Harbor (where Mama and Dada’s constant shouts of “stay on the red bricks!” could be heard all around), went to the Aquarium and had lunch before heading back to NJ.
J got a little nervous as the shark drew closer.

Don’t give up the ship. Day 52/365
Today we toured the Naval Academy. And the entire time we were there, J kept pointing out all the “police officers” and asking what they were all doing there.
And then after lunch in the mess hall, we walked back into town and decided a walk to the Chesapeake Children’s Museum would be a good idea so the kids could nap. Little did we realize we would be walking through the ‘hood and pretty much right alongside a highway the last 0.5 miles to get there. But it was all worth it when we saw this magnificent jewel waiting for us…. O.M.G.
So we cabbed it back to the hotel, disinfected and relaxed for a bit before heading out to dinner for R’s birthday.
And smothered the birthday boy with lots of kisses!
And then just because I am a sucker for staring at sleeping babies … I had to sneak in their room every night.

Birthday getaway. Day 51/365
We headed down to Annapolis and Baltimore for Dada’s and R’s birthday celebration week! We had a pretty easy drive down and then headed into town, walked around, went for a boat tour and then out to dinner. It was HOT but fun.
Even though we had a great time in town, I think the highlight of the day (and really, the whole trip) for the boys was the hotel. They loved the scrabble table, the free milk & cookies every night, having their own bedroom with huge beds to sleep in, and the bathroom, which unlike ours at home, has a shower curtain so they can splash to their hearts’ desire. As soon as R saw there were two beds in his room there was absolutely no shot at getting R to sleep in his crib. We tried to put him in there and just like a cartoon character, he kicked his legs open so they landed on either side of the crib rail and we could not get him into the crib. He kept crying “R sleep in bed!” So we built a pillow fortress around him and let him sleep in the bed. He did really great! Of course, it took them like an hour and half to fall asleep each night because they kept talking to each other and checking to see if the other was asleep yet… but we survived!!
