As many water activities as possible!! Day 47/365
We did our best to max out on water-related activities during this last week of summer. It’s been a relatively cool summer so it was nice, on this last day the pool was open, to see them playing in the pool without blue lips!

At the lake. Day 46/365
The boys were excited all week to see Oma and Opa at the lake. But on the day of our trip, J said to me, “Mama, I don’t think I want to go in the water.” I assumed he would change his mind once we got there, but as it turned out, he didn’t. I guess I am just surprised that at 3, he can make those decisions ahead of time. R, however, was a little water bug and we could not get him out of the water the entire 4 and half hours we were there (except to eat). He just kept begging Opa to get back in the water with him. I tried to keep a low profile so that I wouldn’t become the next target!

Land of Make Believe. Day 44/365
I swear, they had fun.
The castle was a big attraction for J. He was so excited to be in the play and to have a chance to be on stage and help with the show.
They asked the kids to be knights, goblins and princesses. J said he wanted to be a princess so I took him to the stage to get outfitted. Even though he had been so excited, he ultimately decided he would rather just watch than act.
And instead, had fun twirling around.
It was one of the hottest days of the summer so our morning took quite a bit out of them. They both conked out on the way home.

“Welcome to our Ool.” Day 42/365
“(Notice there’s no ‘P’ in it. Let’s keep it that way!)” When I snapped this, I immediately thought of that sign you sometimes see around people’s pools. For those who may not be aware, swimmie diapers serve only 1 very important function – keeping in the poo. They don’t do much else. Even armed with this knowledge, I choose to believe that this is pool water dripping from his suit.
Brothers sharing. Sort of. Day 41/365
When I give J and R treats, J likes to eat the majority of his and then ask R if he wants to share. J holds out his mostly eaten treat and R usually accepts b/c he thinks J is giving him extra treat. Then 1 of 2 things happen: 1. J grabs R’s treat and eats it and R cries b/c on some level he understands he was just swindled, or 2. R gobbles up J’s treat before J can snatch R’s treat and then R eats his own as well and J is left in the lurch. Either way, Mama loses b/c I have to deal with a crying baby.

Tchochke. Day 39/365
Visiting Oma Toos is always a fun time for these guys because she has so many figurines and other little things for them to play with (or break!!).
(sorry, iPhone again!)
