Swimming. Day 13/365
After Opa made us all a yummy dinner, we sat outside waiting to see if any of the balloons from the festival would fly overhead. The wind must have been going the opposite direction because we didn’t have any luck seeing them this year.

Second attempt. Day 11/365
The last time I took these two to Friendly’s we had to leave before our food even came. In the span of 10 minutes, J managed to have a tantrum over not being able to sit on my side of the booth, as a result of squeezing all 3 of us on one side both wound up spilling their juice, a box of crayons was tossed on the floor, a menu was torn apart, an old lady was hit with a projectile matchbox car, two boys went into timeout in the front vestibule and I was chastised by two old men for my children’s behavior. Months later I thought we might give it a second try, but with a few adjustments. I previewed the menu before we went so I would know what to order, I went to the outside take-out window to order, we sat at the tables outside typically reserved for those getting ice cream only, I brought sippy cups and we left the matchbox cars at home. The only mistake I made was bringing Bauer this time. But it’s just so close to home and it was so nice out I felt terrible leaving him home as we departed for our walk. (yup, iPhone shot – didn’t even TRY to bring my big girl camera)

Bowling. Day 10/365
We met some friends at a local bowling alley. We’re not generally the most talented bowlers, but you can get a pretty high score when you’ve got two balls going down the lane at once. Of course, the guys who work at the bowling alley will be constantly annoyed with you and breathe a not-so-silent sigh of relief when you only stay for two games. The kids had fun though and we did our best to stop them from crossing the foul line, stealing other people’s balls because they liked the colors better, getting their fingers smooshed when the balls came out of return system and dropping heavy balls onto their own or their mother’s feet (I’ve still got the bruise!).
See, doesn’t he look thrilled?
