“Up!” Day 363/365
Visit! Day 362/365
We had a great day visiting Aunt M and hanging out in her very awesome and warm pool!! Yay for heated pools! We had a lovely lunch, watched some cartoons and bribed the kids for good behavior with some of Uncle J’s fruit snacks.
They both fell asleep on the car ride home. I have no idea how he can sleep like this and not wake up with a sore neck.

Melts my heart. Day 361/365
I like to sneak into their rooms at night sometimes just to watch them sleep. I’m not a crazy stalker. I’m just a sucker for a sleeping baby. And once I see them sleeping, all the stress and annoyance they *may* have caused during the day seems to just melt away.

The nose knows. Day 360/365
This is the torture poor Bauer must face when the kids want to have their lunch outside on the grass as a picnic. He has become quite adept at snatching their food from their hands or even their plates the moment anyone isn’t paying attention. So after numerous tantrums from children whose food has been stolen, this was the solution.

Too hot. Day 359/365
M: “Let’s go outside and play.”
J: “No, it’s too hot to play outside. I want to stay inside.”
M: “R wants to go outside and play why don’t you sit in the shade and look at books.”
J: “You guys go play outside and I’ll sit in the house with the air conditioning on and look at books.”

Water Buffalo. Day 357/365
Never met a kid who drank so much water. And moreover, one who doesn’t discriminate between bottled water, tap water, splash table water, hose water, pool water, bath water, lake water … as long as it’s water, it’s all good.

All aboard! Day 356/365
We thought it would be fun to take the train from our house a few stops east to a cute little town for lunch and boy were we right! J and R thought taking a train to lunch – instead of driving or walking – was the coolest.thing.ever.

Driveway picnic. Day 355/365
We couldn’t have asked for better weather for 4th of July weekend. Hurricane Arthur came up the coast and left behind warm weather with a cool breeze and zero humidity. Perfect for a holiday weekend. And even more perfect if your A/C is broken over a holiday weekend…. Anyhoo, we mostly just hung out outside as much as possible enjoying the weather, playing mouth frisbee and having a driveway picnic.
