Boo! Day 102/365
We held off for a few days on putting the pumpkins out because we discussed how one of us should research and see what to use to keep the squirrels away. Well, neither of us did it. And seeing as how Halloween is pretty darn close, we figured we may as well just put them out now or else all our work was for nothing. The boys really enjoyed playing with all the Halloween decorations!

Box o’ fun. Day 101/365
I love it when my kiddos find a way to entertain themselves with something as simple as an empty box. (I also love the new organizational system that came IN the box.)

Pumpkin fun. DAY 100/365!!
J was so excited to paint pumpkins and make jack-o-lanterns. And he really had a blast making a huge mess with the paint. That is, until he somehow convinced himself that there was no more green paint in the jar. We kept showing him there was paint in it and putting his brush in there to show him he could still paint. But all we got in response was a whiny “there’s no more greeeeeennnnn.” We gave up painting about 20 minutes into the mysterious there’s-no-more-green-paint-but-really- there-is tantrum. Even with a whining older brother as the soundtrack to his afternoon, R really enjoyed pouring out the paint and trying to eat his paint brush… much to Dada’s dismay. He was very worried R was going to die of paint poisoning.

Mooooore pumpkins. Day 99/365
Another day, another pumpkin patch. This time to get BIG pumpkins for carving into jack o’lanterns. We were going to skip the tractor ride this time around, but once J saw the tractors we didn’t have the heart to say no.
“MY PUMPKIN! MINE!”

Field Trip. Day 98/365
Today we went with J’s school on a field trip to a local farm where the kids got to enjoy a tractor ride, pumpkin picking, hay bale climbing, apple cider and donuts. What a fun morning!!

Tunnel. Day 96/365
J and R are way more into cars than they are trains, but watching the trains go through this tunnel – and trying to fit cars through as well – is a favorite for R.

Thank God for Apps. Day 95/365
On days where I can’t drag my sorry self out of bed to shower before the boys wake up, I have to thank Steve Jobs and the wonderful people at Apple for inventing the iPhone and kiddie Apps. Oh yeah, and R too, for not dropping his morning nap yet. I would never be clean otherwise!!

Selfie. Day 94/365
The assignment for this week in my 365 group was self-portrait. There were a few different attempts, but I liked this one best. Mostly because this is where I usually am when I should be sleeping, but also because I liked the soft light in the office that was filtering in through the trees. And finally, I picked this one because it was 3 pm, my hair was still wet and I was still in my PJs. This also demonstrates how life is right now – sometimes it’s just one of those days where everyone is miserable and nothing really gets done, including getting dressed. And drying my hair.
